A listless trading session assisted stocks to end generally flat as we began a fresh new trading week. ([url="http://www.millennium-traders.com/news/newscommentary.aspx"]read more[/url])&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;At the closing bell on the Stock Exchange, here is how the major world indices and major U.S. indices ended the session on the U.S. Markets:&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;DOW (Dow Jones Industrial Average) loss of 38.27 points on the day to end the session at 12,269.08&lt;br&gt;NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) gain of 24.65 points to end the session at 9,087.88&lt;br&gt;NASDAQ gain of 20.28 points for a close at 2,474.78&lt;br&gt;S&amp;P 500 gain of 0.11 points for a close at 1,360.14&lt;br&gt;FTSE All-World ex-U.S. gain of 1.54 points to close at 242.94&lt;br&gt;FTSE RAFI 1000 gain of 10.16 points for a close at 5,387.08&lt;br&gt;BEL 20 loss of 21.81 points to close at 3,566.60&lt;br&gt;CAC 40 loss of 24.56 points to close at 4,657.74&lt;br&gt;FTSE100 loss of 8.2 points to close at 5,794.6&lt;br&gt;NIKKEI 225 triple digit gain of 380.7 points to close at 14,354.4&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;News on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) today: advanced stocks 1,894; declined stocks 1,258; unchanged stocks 98; stocks hitting new highs 61; stocks hitting new lows 76. Net foreign purchases of long-term U.S. securities were $104.8 billion. Of this, net purchases by private foreign investors were $63.5 billion, and net purchases by foreign official institutions were $41.3 billion. U.S. residents sold a net $10.3 billion of long-term foreign securities. Net foreign acquisition of long-term securities, taking into account adjustments, is estimated to have been $102.8 billion. Foreign holdings of dollar-denominated short-term U.S. securities, including Treasury bills, and other custody liabilities decreased $17.2 billion. Foreign holdings of Treasury bills increased $3.3 billion. Banks' own net dollar-denominated liabilities to foreign residents declined $25.0 billion. Monthly net TIC flows were $60.6 billion. Of this, net foreign private flows were $31.5 billion, and net foreign official flows were $29.1 billion.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Commodities Markets&lt;br&gt;Energy Sector: Light Crude (NYM) shed $0.25 on the day to close at $134.61 a barrel ($US per bbl.); Heating Oil (NYM) shed $0.01 on the day to close at $3.83 a gallon ($US per gal.); Natural Gas (NYM) gained $0.31 on the day to close at $12.93 per million BTU ($US per mmbtu.); Unleaded Gas (NYM) shed $0.02 on the day to close at $3.44 a gallon ($US per gal.). &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Metals Markets: Gold (CMX) gained $13.20 to close at $886.30 ($US per Troy oz.); Silver (CMX) gained $0.67 to close at $17.23 ($US per Troy oz.); Platinum (NYM) gained $13.70 on the day to close at $2,050.70 ($US per Troy oz.) and Copper (CMX) gained $0.07 on the day to close at $3.66 ($US per lb.). &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Livestock and Meat Markets (cents per lb.): Lean Hogs (CME) shed 0.18 to close at 74.98; Pork Bellies (CME) shed 0.78 to close at 73.13; Live Cattle (CME) gained 1.18 to close at 103.45; Feeder Cattle (CME) gained 0.50 to close at 109.65. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Other Commodities (cents per bu.): Corn (CBT) closed with no change at 765.00 and Soybeans (CBT) shed 8.00 to close session at 1,523.00.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;Bond action for the day: 2 year bond closed with no change at 99 7/32 with a Yield of 3.03, Yield Change 0.00; 5 year bond shed 3/32 to close at 98 28/32 with a Yield of 3.74, Yield Change +0.02; 10 year bond shed 2/32 to close at 96 28/32 with a Yield of 4.26, Yield Change +0.01; the 30 year bond shed 1/32 to close at 93 15/32 on the day with a Yield of 4.78, Yield Change 0.00.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;The e-mini Dow $5 ended the commodity session today at 12,275 with a loss of 27 points on the trading session.
